Use Case: Two Shareable Dashboards
In this use case, we will walk through the following scenario:
- You have a dashboard that includes a report on test case count and a report on requirement count, both per module within a project.
- You want to be able to duplicate this dashboard but change the project that the dashboard is reporting on.
- You want two dashboards to coexist: D1- the original with the original project and D2- the duplicate with the new project.
- You want both of these dashboards to be shareable.
To do so, follow these steps:
Create D1
- In qTest Insights, select the Dashboards drop-down menu and select Create New Dashboard.
- Select the panel(s) that you want to display on your dashboard.
- Modify the dashboard's reporting settings in the global filter.
- In the global filter menu, select save as and name your dashboard.
- Select the dashboards tab, and choose manage from the drop-down menu.
- Find your newly created dashboard and select the action icon. Select share dashboard.
- Next, find your shared dashboard under the shared dashboard section. Select the action icon and then choose shareable URL. You are then given a URL that you can share with your team.
Create D2
- Select the Dashboards tab, choose manage.
- Select your previously created dashboard.
- Change the Project in the global filter.
- Select save as in the global filter menu and give it a new name.
- Select the dashboards tab, and choose manage from the drop-down menu.
- Find your newly created dashboard and select the action icon. Choose shareable URL. You are then given a URL that you can share with your team.
Both dashboards have been created and can coexist while reporting on different projects.
