qTest Automation Host 2.1.0 Release Notes - June 29, 2018

[Updated August 06, 2018]

Automation Host 2.1.0 cannot upgrade itself to the newer version IF you are running qTest OnPremise version 9.1.5. qTest OnDemand users are not impacted.

Work around: upgrade Manually using backup and restore command following these instructions:

New Features

This release includes the new Universal Agent that allows you to integrate your test automation workflow to qTest Automation Host by setting up an execution workflow with pre-defined execution scripts and commands. Your test results will be submitted to qTest Manager by the Universal Agent.

Note:

  • The Universal Agent is only available in the Automation Host 2.1.0. Upon upgrade to Automation Host 2.1.0 your previously created agents (ex: ShellAgent, TestNG) will still be visible and work as they did before you upgrade. You have the ability to edit your previously created agents to use the 'Universal Agent Type' to benefit from this new feature.
  • The Universal Agent is only available for Elite customers.

Example execution workflow for the Universal Agent:

  1. setup test environment
  2. pull your source code from a source control
  3. execute the tests
  4. submit test results to qTest Manager
