2.5 Import Parameter

From Parameters Grid page, click Import button, Import Parameters Popup appears, letting you import your file.

You will go through 3 steps as following:

Select projects: select projects where you want to use your importing parameters.

Clicking "Clear All Projects" link will remove all projects from the drop-down box. However, Project is required field, you need to specify at least one project into which the parameters will be imported.

Select import file: Notice that your import file have to follow the sample template for system to recognize. As best practice, you should download the template and put your own values there.

You can either drag and drop the file or pick it from your computer.

Select option to handle duplicate parameters (if any): In case your import file contains identifiers which are existing in the system, you are able to specify the way you want to handle them by selecting 1 out of 3 options:

  • Overwrite duplicate parameters: replace existing parameter in the system and all of its values with new one from import file.
  • Add data to existing parameters: keep the existing parameter in the system, import more values (from import file) to the existing parameter.
  • Skip duplicate parameter (default option):  do not import the duplicate parameter, leave the existing parameter in the system as it is.

Import Result

Import Result dialog tells you number of successful imported parameters, number of failures and also the list of fail-to-import parameters.

Example: When you import a file with 9 new parameters and 1 duplicate parameter (duplicated with an existing identifier in the system), and you selected the option "Skip duplicate parameters". After import process, you will receive the following result:

Click the SKIPPED number, you will see a list of duplicated ones that were skipped importing.
