8.3.06 Connect to Bugzilla

Pre-Condition: Bugzilla requires the installation of the BZAPI API on the server in order to accept bug reports from external applications. qTest Explorer currently supports Bugzilla version 3.4.x, 3.6.x, 4.0.x., and 4.2.

  1. Select "Bugzilla" tracker type, enter connection name, Bugzilla Web Service URL, and login information.

The Web service URL schema depends on your Bugzilla setup. Contact your Bugzilla administrator to get the correct Web service URL. Sample URL: http://bugzilla.qasymphony.com:3000. Bugzilla integration does not accept special characters in the password field.

Bugzilla requires users to install its BZAPI API on the server in order to accept bug reports from external applications. If you have not installed the API, refer to the links below:

qTest Explorer defect records support Unicode. However, Bugzilla does not support Unicode by default. If you need to view these Unicode defect records in your Bugzilla system, you may need to download and install a patch on your Bugzilla system.

  2. Click the Test Connection button to test the connection. You will receive a confirmation message next to the Test Connection button if the connection is established successfully.

  3. Click Save to save settings for subsequent use. The connection is saved and listed on the Settings screen and on Submit dropdown list. To submit the defect to Bugzilla, refer to Submit Defect to Bugzilla for details.
