2.1.2.5 JIRA Widget

JIRA widget provides the summary of integrated information between a qTest project and a JIRA project. It resides in your JIRA project.

Installing qTest for JIRA Cloud

This plugin will install JIRA Widget on your JIRA project.

To install the plugin on your JIRA Cloud:

  1. Log into your JIRA instance using an System Administrator account.
  2. Click on the Gear icon then select Add-ons.
  3. Select Find New Add-ons on the left menu.
  4. Enter the keyword "qTest for JIRA" into the search box, locate the corresponding qTest add-on search result, then click on Install button 
  5. Click on Accept & install button to confirm the installation.

  6. After being installed, you are now ready to use JIRA Widget.

Viewing the Widget

Widget is shown for individual Jira project integrated with qTest. To view Widget report:

  1. Access the Jira instance and select Jira project you set up for Defects and Requirements Integration in qTest
  2. On the left panel of project, select Add-ons\qTest
  3. Select one of qTest projects from the drop-down list and click on Show button. The summarized information is devided into 4 blocks:
  • Unresolved Defects: By Test Run Status
  • Resolved Defects: By Test Run Status
  • Synced Requirements without Test Case
  • Top 10 Synced Requirements with Defects submitted from qTest

 

1. Unresolved Defects: By Test Run Status

You can view the number of unresolved Defects (issues) which were submitted from qTest. They are grouped by their associated Test Runs' latest status.

Click on the number of Defects or View Defects link to view Defects' details and their associated qTest Test Runs.

You can export the table to Excel file for further reporting purposes by clicking on Export button.

 

2. Resolved Defects: By Test Run Status

You can view the number of resolved Defects (issues) which were submitted from JIRA. They are grouped by their associated Test Runs' latest status.

Click on the number of Defects or View Defects link to view Defects' details and their associated qTest Test Runs.

You can export the table to Excel file for further reporting purposes by clicking on Export button.

 

3. Synced Requirements without Test Case

If Requirement Integration has not been switched on in qTest, there is no data to show in this section.

This section shows the quantity and percentage of Requirements which were imported from JIRA and have not had any associated Test Runs in qTest. They are grouped by their JIRA issue type and JIRA issue status.

Click on the issue status links, Subtotal links or View Requirements link to view Requirement's details.

You can export the table to Excel file for further reporting purposes by clicking on Export button.

 

4. Top 10 Synced Requirements with Defects submitted from qTest

If Requirement Integration has not been switched on in qTest, there is no data to show in this section.

It lists out top 10 Requirements (JIRA issues) which have the highest number of associated Defects submitted from qTest.

Click on the Requirement's name to view its details on JIRA.

Click on View Requirements link to view all Requirements and their associated Defects.

You can export the table to Excel file for further reporting purposes by clicking on Export button.
