qSnap Plug-in Features

1. Capture Screenshots

To capture the screenshot of the current web page, click qSnap icon on the toolbar of the browser. This icon could be a little bit different:

After capturing the screenshot, the qSnap’s Editor will be navigated to allow you to edit the screenshots.

At any time, you can capture another screenshot by selecting another browser tab, and then clicking qSnap icon. You can also click Capture New button in the bottom left bar of the Editor to move to another browser tab, then select the web page you want to capture and click qSnap icon.

2. Edit Screenshots

2.1. Annotate Screen

  1. Select an annotation tool such as Rectangle, Ellipse, Arrow, Text, Callout, or Pencil.

  2. Draw the selected annotation on screen.
  3. Resize, or move the annotation as desired.
  4. Format the annotation tool as needed – change the border’s color and/or border’s thickness

 You can delete the selected annotation by pressing Delete key on your keyboard.

 

 2.2. Crop Image

  1. Select the Crop tool on the Annotation toolbar.

  2. Draw a rectangle selection to identify the crop area. It finishes when you release the mouse.

 You can do the crop again, and the previous one will not be effective any more.

 

2.3. Blur Sensitive Information

  1. Select the Blur tool on the Annotation toolbar.

  2. Draw a rectangle selection to cover the sensitive information.

2.4. Select Screen

There are two ways to select a screen:

(1)   Click < or > button in the bottom left bar; or

 (2)   If the screen list has not been displayed, click ShowListButton.pngbutton in the bottom left bar to display it,  then select the screen from the list:

 The selected screen will be displayed in the Editor.

 

2.5. Change Title of the Screen

The default title of the screen is the title of the Web page captured. You can change screen’s title by clicking to the title of that screen in the screen list:

2.6. Add Existing Image File (JPG or PNG)

Click Add File button to locate an existing image file (JPG/PNG) and insert that image into the screen list:

2.7. Delete Screen

If the screen list has not been displayed, click ShowListButton.pngbutton in the bottom left bar to display it, then hover the mouse over a screen on the list, the Delete icon will display, then click on Delete icon to delete that screen:

2.8. Undo and Redo

When you are working in the Editor, you can undo and redo your actions as needed.

  1. Select the Undo button to undo an action performed in the qSnap Editor.

  2. To revert the effect of the Undo action, select Redo.

2.9. Exit Editor

At any time, you can close the Editor by simple closing the browser tab where the Editor is displayed. Note that when Editor is closed, all the screenshots captured and edited will be deleted. After that, if you click on qSnap icon on the toolbar of the browser, the Editor will be showed again, but it just includes a screenshot of the web page which has just been captured.

 

3. Share Screens

You can save screens captured to local machine, upload them to qSnap hosting service and share its links, or print it, by clicking on Share this screen button in the bottom right bar, then select the desired item on the popup menu.

3.1. Share Screen

With this activity, you can upload the current screen in the Editor to qSnap hosting service and get its link to share to other.

If you have not logged in to qSnap hosting service in the current browser session, the dialog below will display. Click qSnap to navigate to the Log-in page of qSnap hosting service. You can register a free account from that Log-in page, if you have not had it yet.

After uploading your current screen to qSnap hosting service successfully under your account, the Share dialog below will appear which shows the link to the uploaded screen in qSnap hosting. Click Copy to clipboard button to copy the link to the clipboard, then you can paste it to any other application to share it to other.

3.2. Share All Screens

This activity is the same with “Share Screen”, but it will upload all the screens in the Editor to qSnap hosting service.

After uploading all screens successfully, the Share dialog below will appear which shows the links to all the uploaded screens in qSnap hosting. Click Copy to clipboard button to copy these links to the clipboard, then you can paste them to any other application to share to others.

3.3. Save Screen to Your Machine

This activity will save the current screen in the Editor to the Downloads folder in your machine as an JPG image file. The title of the screen will be its file name.

 

3.4. Print this Screen

This activity will print the current screen in the Editor.

 

 

5. Settings

The Settings dialog will be displayed when you click Settings button in the top right bar of the Editor.

In the Settings dialog, you can re-assign the hot key to help you capture quickly. Click Save button when finishing.
